DAY 1: MAHABALIPURAM
Mahabalipuram is a seaside village with a rich heritage. A flourishing port town in Tamil Nadu during the reign of the Pallava rulers, it is famous for its rock - cut art. Mahabalipuram is a part of the Golden Triangle circuit of South India along with Chennai and Kanchipuram.

DAY 2: MAHA - KANCHEEPURAM
A 65-kilometre stretch of sun-scorched road connects Mahabalipuram to the fabled city of a thousand temples, Kanchipuram. There are 650 stone inscriptions in Kanchipuram belonging to different dynasties. The temples here reflect the maturity and efflorescence of Pallava art and the ornate and often imposing embellishments were produced later by the Chola, Vijayanagara and Chalukyan kings. There is a solemn grandeur, a grandiosity of vision and ornamental excess in the temples here.

DAYS 3 & 4: MAHA - PONDICHERRY
Pondicherry and Aurobindo Ghosh are inseparable. The famous nationalist leader, who turned mystic in later part of his life, made Pondicherry popular among the foreign tourists. The place is a must visit tour destination in the southern India. Situated on the shores of the Bay of Bengal, Pondicherry is a hot tourist spot among ant Europeans who believe in the philosophies of Aurobindo.

DAY 5: PONDY -GINGEE, THIRUVANNAMALAI (back to pondy)
Gingee: The fort at Gingee is the most spectacular and strategic of all forts in Tamil Nadu. Founded by the Cholas, it rose to prominence in the 16th century under the Nayakas when most of the fortifications, temples and granaries were built. Thereafter it was successively occupied by the Adil Shahis, Marathas, Mughals, French and British until it was abandoned in the beginning of the 19th century.
Tiruvannamalai: is an ancient city named after the holy mountain "Tiruvannan Malai". Geologist consider this mountain is older than The Himalayas. The history of Tiruvannamalai can be tracked from B.C 100 Tamil Sangam age. Spiritual seekers and tourists comes to Tiruvannamalai town between the month of Novemeber, December and January. DAY 6: PONDY -CHIDAMBARAM, GANGAI KONDACHOLAPURAM, KUMBAKONAM
Chidambaram: This sacred temple town is located in Thanjavur district, about 60 km south of Pondicherry. The focal point of the town is the awe inspiring Nataraja Temple, built by the Cholas in the 9th century to honour their patron deity Lord Shiva as Nataraja, the “Lord of Cosmic Dance”.

Kumbakonam is a famous temple town, located in the Thanjavur District in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Kumbakonam is called temple town because of the large number of temples within the town and the surrounding areas. The Kumbakonam town is known for its intricately carved panchaloha idols, fine brasswares especially lamps, silk and betel leaves.

DAY 7: TANJORE - PERRIYA KOVIL
Tanjore: also known as Thanjavur, was the ancient capital of the Cholas, Nayakas and later the Maratha rulers. It was during the Chola period when Thanjavur reached the zenith of glory and became a center of learning and culture. The Thanjavur palace is among many architectural marvels of the Tanjore city. The Thanjavur palace was partly built by the Nayaks and partly by the Marathas.

DAY 8: KARAIKUDI - CHITTINADU
KaraikudiI: Situated in the Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu between Trichy and Rameshwaram, Karaikudi is the biggest city in Chettinadu and is famous for its Ganesha Temple, Saris, Distinctive Cuisine and Majestic Mansions. Comprising about 72 villages of which many of them were once the homes of wealthy merchant families known as the Chettiars. Today, it is an area of mostly deserted splendid mansions. The place derives its name from the famous plant "Karai" which abounds in the area. Their palaces are made of Burma teakwood and cattare marbles. The architecture is a blend of art deco, chinese and italian inspiration.

DAY 9: MADURAI - HANDICRAFTS
Madurai: Known as the "city of nectar", Madurai is the oldest city in Tamil Nadu and was home to the ancient Tamil Sangam, the literary conclave that produced the first epic, Silappathikaram. Today, it is known to produce some of the finest textiles in India and some of the best harvests of jasmine flowers. One cannot ignore mention of the Meenakshi Temple, which is as well known for its architectural splendor as also a shelter, which inspired a thousand arts.

DAY 10: MADURAI - THEKKADY
Thekkady: Periyar Tiger Reserve, one of the famous Wildlife Sanctuaries in India, spread across 777 Sq. Kms out of which 360 Sq. Kms is thick forest, is one of the best places for viewing wild elephants. There is a 26 Sq. Km. artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar river. A boat cruise on the lake is a great way to watch the wildlife.
Wild animals like the Elephant, Gaur, Sambar Deer and wild boar, which can be easily seen from close quarters during the serene boat ride. Other Mammals like the Nilgiri Thar, the lion tailed macaque, the bonnet macaque, the Malabar giant Squirrel, the flying Squirrel, the Tiger, the jungle cat and the sloth bear are seen only once in a while. Around 265 different species of birds like the Hornbill, stork, woodpecker, kingfisher, raptor, cormorant, grackle, darter etc. can also be seen.

Built by the Portuguese in 1557, the Palace was presented to Raja Veera Kerala Varma of Kochi (Cochin). The palace was renovated in 1663 by the Dutch. On display here are beautiful Murals depicting scenes from the epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata and some of the puranic Hindu legends. The palace also houses Dutch maps of old Kochi, royal palanquins, coronation robes of former Maharajas of Kochi as well as the furniture belonging to that period.
